We love pancakes in our house, but I don’t love all the ingredients in boxed store brands. I’m constantly trying to create my own for our family that are tasty and good for us. I’ve made a lot with almond flour or coconut flour, but we were still missing the protein first thing in the morning.
I’m so happy to find these all-in-one protein pancakes from Silver Fern Brand! These Paka Baking Mix pancakes are literally packed with protein (16g per 3, 4-inch pancakes), have under 200 calories, and are super tasty! For me, a lot of products can be high in protein, then taste like cardboard. No, thanks. I actually tasted the mix while preparing (yummy!) and it was delicious. The taste is not overbearing, and they spread like a silver dollar pancake, which are my favorite! They are also high in fiber at 11 grams, which I never seem to get enough of!
The true test was whether my family would like them, because if I can’t feed them all, I would have to find something else! Everyone noticed the subtle natural sweetness, and we really enjoyed them. We topped them with some fresh strawberries, which was fantastic! I loved that I didn’t need to add a protein shake because I got so much in the pancakes.

Next, I tried the Key Lime Bars!
I was really skeptical about this one, but it turned out great and had good flavor. They were great bars and were pretty much gone after 2 days! Whoops… These have 10 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein. Win, Win. Grab your own Key Lime Bars HERE
Overall, I enjoyed these products and would purchase them again. As I read the ingredient list, they did have Maltodextrin listed, which is a “fake sugar.” It was pretty far down the ingredient list, so maybe it is trace amounts. That’s the only thing I see in this product that I wasn’t 100% a fan of. With healthier food and foods that are still grains, there’s a give and take. I love the protein, fiber, and flavor of these. You usually don’t get all three with gluten-free foods, so you’ll have to decide if that’s a compromise you’re willing to take. We loved it in our house!
